Can she even get sick? She seems like the sort that'd eat anything. Almost like someone I knew at home.

True enough. [Revali shakes his head] I have no idea how someone like her can exist. Or how she's not the only one with that sort of personality. They're exhausting!

[It's not hard to guess what kind of people he's talking about -- Power, Sholmes, Rin, Flat, among others. To say that he's not used to dealing with them is an understatement!

And worse, something he's not going to admit: every single time he talks with them he gets outmatched in so many ways. It's maddening]

Somehow. I suppose as long as they're not hindering everybody, it's fine if they're...absurd.

Not that it makes their lying about clowns or the constant need to cling to me any less tiresome.

Last week, when we still didn't know each other very well, I made the mistake of asking Sholmes for what exactly they were. He said... [He raises a wing, his voice dripping sarcasm, gesturing grandiloquently] ...clowns were a race, with the capacity to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses!

[Since then Revali has found out the truth, of course. Accursed Sholmes, seeing his chance to mess with someone]

Hmph. If there's a clown around here it's him.

[And by Sholmes' definition, too. Sholmes bewitches the mind and ensnares the senses. Beware him]

Herlock Sholmes isn't completely wrong, but it is also highly exaggerated. Do you have a person from your village that you would call the village idiot?

[Vague memories of someone like that from a hundred years ago. They must be long dead by now. There are races with remarkable longevity, for Ritos sure aren't one of them.

Thinking of how everyone he knew at home being dead is one of the things capable of making Revali kind of despondent, so he hurries to not think about that]

Imagine that, but a clown is usually one that is paid to entertain for such foolery.

[Definitely helps. Someone gets paid for that tomfoolery. Revali seems amused by that, because he shakes his head and comments:]

I guess that's what they mean when they say you should use your talents to get ahead in life.

[There's people out there who get paid for something like this, amazing. If the chance arises he's definitely suggesting to someone in this game to go work as a clown, apparently you can get paid for being foolish, you'd be a pro at it]

Some people use it as a descriptor for a fool in general. A figure of speech.
